DAY 4
Well that was it, the diving was over. We had some time to for sight seeing so Brett headed of on an itinerary of glaciers and waterfalls.
Our first port of call was Gulfoss waterfall (Golden Falls). This is the Icelandic equivalent of Niagara and is just as stunning. With the weather being icy cold the spray from the fall was freezing and adding to the drama and the impressive scenery. The noise was incredible, we had to shout to be heard.
Gulfoss seen from the path, the photo does not do justice to it's size and beauty
Stopping for a brief lunch along the way and having a bowl of Icelandic meat soup, we then headed off to the Skogarfoss waterfall which is a sheet of water seemingly descending from nothing.
Skogarfoss can be overlooked by climbing a set of cast iron stairs and is no less impressive from above.

Onward on our mega-geography field trip to stand under the snout of Sólheimajökull Glacier.
We finished off by visiting and walking behind yet another magnificent waterfall (Seljalandsfoss).

We held a final get together (after packing our bags) in the lounge and finally broke into Brett's rum, a great way to finish with Jonathan playing his guitar.

What a trip! I am now three weeks from the trip and I am still buzzing at the thought.

Questions....
Was it expensive? - Yes
Was it tiring? - Yes
Were there long journeys involved? - Yes
Would I do it all again? - YES MOST DEFINITELY.

Fantastic diving, a fantastic experience, amazing scenery, and a great team to share the experience with. This was a true diving adventure.

The question is what next Eccleston Delph?
