Having dived this once before, myself and my buddy have decided to open up a few sites and explore the lake a bit more. With this in mind, an OS map and the desire to find Arctic Char we headed off to Wales and to explore a couple of new areas.
Arriving at the lake we spent a while scouting out the area and eventually landed on an area that had a small bay and looked as though it lead into the lake.
The previous dive had been on of interest but had various man made features and we never managed to start a descent into the lake, still enjoyable though.
Choosing the route was easy, a straight line into the center from the middle of the inlet.

Both dives started with a shallow 1.5 meter over lush green weed that was swarming with small fish, some Stickle Backs and a fry using the weeded area as shelter. the first dive (named GPL) then began a descent over a silty bed with the odd out crop of rock. The water had clarity but only allowed for about 8 meters visibility. The descent continued to about 18 meters until we decided to return, a good test of navigation.

The second dive was out and to the left of the inlet (called GPR). The start of the dive lead to the naming of the routes. On the return from the dive I had dropped my Go Pro in the shallows and at the beginning of the dive we retraced our route and found the camera on the way out. Hence the names GPL AND GPR. Go Pro Lost and Go Pro Retrieved (not left and right!).

The GPR dive was kept to a lower depth around the 7 - 8 meter mark. We trailed the base of the weed level trying to find signs of Arctic Char. Sadly we never saw any of the larger specimens but we managed to see smaller fish in among the weed. taking shelter until they are big enough to venture out.
We returned to the shore and headed off. A return to investigate other sites is on the cards.
