FINNART .... AT LAST!

The journey was pretty easy and straight forward except for the completely useless help from the ticket/information office at Partick. The reply when asking which platform for the Dumbarton train was a finger pointing upwards (not a middle one) and the word up. Thanks mate but both platforms were upstairs, fortunately a passing passenger showed me the way.
Arriving early and ready changed into my thermals we headed to Finnart.
Passing by the old naval port and directions to RNAD (in joke for the people on the trip) and then pulling up by the entrance to the site.
View of Loch Long from the entrance point to the Finnart dive site
A relaxed preparation was speedier thanks to the arrival of midges, fortunately we discovered the best approach is to stand just close enough to Julian for the midges to notice him but far enough away not to be affected by them. He is a genuine midge magnet.
That aside we entered the water and found the visibility to be excellent. Plenty of crustaceans, blennies and the anemones were amazing, all in full bloom. It is worth looking under structures to see these fans in full bloom.
There was a plentiful supply of Butterfish, flatfish, sea Sticklebacks and in addition an Angler fish and Ling.
